Cooking pumpkins

I have been working on cooking from scratch for my family these past couple months.  After many raving reviews about how good fresh pumpkin is, I decided to give it a try. They smelled very good while they were cooking.  I as able to get about 8 cups of fresh pumpkin.  I froze 2 cups per freezer bag to use in the future.
First I oiled the pumpkins with coconut oil.

Next I cooked them until I could pierce them with a knife easily.

I then cleaned out the seeds and slimy strings.

Then I pureed the flesh. (Note to self, I need a bigger food processor)

Some of the pureed flesh.

8 cups of pureed pumpkin ready for the freezer!

Learning to sew

Nehemiah loves Snoopy and when we were at the fabric store he asked if he could learn to sew.  We though it was a good idea so off to the learning section we went, and what would you know.  They had a beginner sewing kit to make a Snoopy!  He was very careful to make him look very accurate.

the kit

starting to stuff

stuffing just right, not to much and not to little

sewing up his back

finished!  Snoopy also has a red collar he wears,
we forgot to get a picture after we put it on.

Rachel also practiced lacing with a bear.

Happy 4th Birthday, Rachel!!

Happy Birthday, Rachel!  We love what you bring to our family.  Your smiles, thoughtfulness and love for cuddles.  May you continue to grow in God's word and shine for him!  We love you!!
Rachel whispered to Mommy that she wanted flowers for her birthday.

We went to the bear place for dinner, (Black Bear Diner).
The waiter blessed her with a new bear!
