Big Brother

Nehemiah loves being a big brother.  He has recently been given big buddy duties  for helping out with Caleb.  He enjoys holding him and cleaning up his spit up.  (Our babies spit up a lot!) Caleb loves interacting with him too!

Balloon fun

While watching the kids play around him in the playroom, Caleb got a hold of a balloon.  He loved watching it go up and down and playing with the string.

Disclaimer: Mommy was sitting with him the whole time he played.

Serious Rachel

Rachel is a deep thinker, and when it comes to watching Winnie the Pooh, she takes what he has to say seriously.  Lately she has even started talking like Pooh. Her tummy now talks to her. "My tummy is a little rumbly." "Mommy, I think my tummy is hungry." "There is a rumbly in my tummy."

Rachel's 4th birthday party

Rachel loves Winnie the Pooh and Grandmomma, but then again who doesn't? So her birthday party theme just had to be Winnie the Pooh with Grandmomma there.  She also requested for a hill with Pooh on top for her cake and with honey as her icing. I had to let her know that honey wasn't really an option but we could do  green grass icing and sprinkles.

Grandmother Too sent a really cool candle for her birthday.  We lit the top and it opened up and twirled in circles playing Happy Birthday!  It was an awesome candle!  Thanks Grandmother Too, the whole family enjoyed it!!

Thanksgiving decorations

This year as we prepared for Thanksgiving, we made a handprint leaf tree and a Tom the turkey.  We also did several activities from Enchanted Learning.  They have mini books, puzzles, quizzes, and activities for just about every holiday and every season. They do have a $20 yearly fee but it's well worth it.  This is our second year to use them.

Cooking pumpkins

I have been working on cooking from scratch for my family these past couple months.  After many raving reviews about how good fresh pumpkin is, I decided to give it a try. They smelled very good while they were cooking.  I as able to get about 8 cups of fresh pumpkin.  I froze 2 cups per freezer bag to use in the future.
First I oiled the pumpkins with coconut oil.

Next I cooked them until I could pierce them with a knife easily.

I then cleaned out the seeds and slimy strings.

Then I pureed the flesh. (Note to self, I need a bigger food processor)

Some of the pureed flesh.

8 cups of pureed pumpkin ready for the freezer!

Learning to sew

Nehemiah loves Snoopy and when we were at the fabric store he asked if he could learn to sew.  We though it was a good idea so off to the learning section we went, and what would you know.  They had a beginner sewing kit to make a Snoopy!  He was very careful to make him look very accurate.

finished!  Snoopy also has a red collar he wears,
we forgot to get a picture after we put it on.

Rachel also practiced lacing with a bear.

Happy 4th Birthday, Rachel!!

Happy Birthday, Rachel!  We love what you bring to our family.  Your smiles, thoughtfulness and love for cuddles.  May you continue to grow in God's word and shine for him!  We love you!!
Rachel whispered to Mommy that she wanted flowers for her birthday.

We went to the bear place for dinner, (Black Bear Diner).
The waiter blessed her with a new bear!
