Halloween

We took the children out for our neighborhood trick or treat.  We met lots of our neighbors (turn over is high here since people only live here about 9-12 months) and they received a huge amount of candy!  We actually had to call trick or treating quits before we even made it home!
Our family from "the Farm" made this for us.

Rachel the duckie

Samuel the RAWR

Rachel the duckie, Natasha the Ariel, Nehemiah the Obi Wan Kenobi

Caleb the turtle (Nehemiah wore this his first Halloween)

This is most of the candy they received.  We put tons more in the bowl for trick or treaters to take.

October Crafts

I haven't quite gotten back into the swing of sewing again mainly because I am enjoying snuggling with Caleb during my designated sewing time.  I will be getting back into sewing soon because my list of projects seem to be piling up and the accomplish dates are creeping up way to fast.

I made this quilt for my mother-in-law for her birthday.  Let's just say that it was very difficult to sew through 4 layers of denim and I won't be making another one unless the price was right. As much as I love quilting, I do not love quilting double sided denim.  I broke about 13 needles and have blisters on my hands from manually turning the needle on the machine, but my mother-in-law is well worth it!

Pumpkin patch

We went to a pumpkin farm yesterday.  We had a great time learning the life stages of pumpkins, bees, how big pumpkins can get and jumping in a hay pit.  Homeschooling is more than just learning straight out of books, it's learning together as a family, hands on!

The 2nd place pumpkin, we liked the way this one look compared to the first.

Our first trip to the E.R for being a boy..

I knew one day this would happen but I didn't realize it would be so soon.  Nehemiah was riding his scooter and couldn't stop and ran into a bench.  His tooth and scooter handle bars hit his lip and he had to go and get it glued.   He was incredibly brave.  Daddy, Nehemiah, and Dog Dog split a shake afterwards.

teething

Caleb has been drooling a lot lately and has been pretty fuzzy, so after doing some gum searching, we realized he was getting ready to get some teeth.  After some research, I ordered a Sophie giraffe and an amber teething necklace.  He loves his Sophie and the necklace has really helped!
